Sweet Rejection

How did he manage?
I'm still trying to fathom the logic of the man.
The man who laughed and smiled.
The man who was open and interested.

The man who rejected.

Him : Good Evening
Me : Good Evening Sir. How are you?
Him : Im fine. What about you?
Me : So far so good sir.
(we both grin)
Him : So you dont speak Hindi?
Me : No sir. I do. It's my Mother Tongue.
Him : Tamil?
Me : I speak it, though i still havent managed to pick up Reading and Writing the language. I've always wanted to, but it hasnt happened. Yet.
(Another grin)
Him : So where are you originally from?
Me : North India Sir. From UP. The city of Allahabad.
Him : I've heard of it. Can you tell me what is special about it?
Me : Its the site of the Trtiveni Sangam Sir. The site where the Rivers Ganga, Yamuna and mythically, Saraswati meet. Its a very holy spot for Hindu's.
Him : So tell me about yourself..
Me : Blah Blah Blah.
(we both laugh)
Him : What about your programming skills?
Me : I know the basics of C, C++ and Visual Basic. But only to the extent of what we have been taught in our First Year.
Him : Can you write a program?
Me : No!!
(laugh)
Him : Write a simple program to swap 2 numbers without using a 3rd variable.
Me : Ok.
(after struggling with it for a minute..)
Him : Forget it. Its ok. What other softwares do you know?
Me : SolidWorks.
Him : No Java, DBMS, SQL?
Me : Err, no sir. But i would be more than happy to learn if given the chance :)
Him : Thats good. So if i place you anywhere in the country would you be fine? Considering you are a North Indian living in South India et all?
Me : Absolutely sir!! I think that is one of the best ways to see our country.
Him : Good answer!!
Him : I think thats about it.
Me : Thank You sir.
(shaking his hand)
Me : I hope to see you in a years time!!
Him : Absolutely.

Exeunt.

Prologue

Scene 1
A room in a building.
1:03 AM.

The door is unlatched. Quiet murmurings outside. Eyes that should have been nervously asleep open up. Now nervous and awake, the eyes look towards the door. Solace is in the fact that they are new. They are as yet unknown. Simple.

The door opens with the wind. Muted lights under closed doors. The faint smell of piss. And the murmuring. They look out into the hall. Humming away, the cooler looks back. Satisfied, the eyes go back to binary 0.

The journey has been a couple of weeks late, and not in the usual manner. The day was spent quietly, with a lot to look forward to.

Now the day has begun. And with a handful of hours to go, the eyes surrender to the murmurs always present.

The shadow creeps back into the eyes. A quarter of the way around the world, he retraces his path. Much as he has been doing for millions of years.

At 6:20, the eyes see him. And they open.

A smile appears, and with the practised precision of 17 years, the day begins.

Hello World

#include(stdio.h)
#include(conio.h)
main()
{
printf("Hello World");
clrscr();
return(0);
}
